Curso financiado Erasmus BIP Physics-informed Machine Learning Applications to Geotechnical Engineering (RWTH Aachen – 26-30 julio 2022)

Dirigido a alumnado de universidades (red ENHANCE) y titulaciones seleccionadas (entre ellas el MUIInf y alumnado de 4º de los Grados en Ing. Informática y de Ciencia de Datos).

Consiste en:
Una parte virtual – curso de introducción (18 y19 julio 2022).
La parte virtual consta de conferencias, tutorías y aprendizaje autónomo.

Un taller presencial en Aachen, Alemania (25 al 29 julio 2022)

Requisitos:

Requisitos académicos: tener matrícula activa en la UPV durante el curso 2021-22.

Requisitos lingüísticos: nivel B2 de inglés o superior (ser capaz de comunicarse en inglés con fluidez y de forma autónoma a nivel oral y escrito). No se pide certificado.

Ayuda económica Erasmus+

Las ayudas económicas son para contribuir a los gastos de viaje y manutención durante la estancia en Aachen. Ayuda general: 490€

Ayudas adicionales para estudiantes con menos oportunidades: 275€ para personas con alguna de estas condiciones:
– tener la condición de refugiado/a con derecho a protección subsidiaria
– tener reconocida y calificada legalmente una discapacidad en un grado igual o superior al 33%
– estudiantes que tengan asignada beca general de estudios del MEC en 2021-22.

Las ayudas se cobrarán una vez completada la actividad (en septiembre u octubre), presentando los certificados de participación que expida la universidad organizadora.

We would like to draw your particular attention to the following events:

  • Coming to TUM as an exchange student. (June 30, 2022. 01.00 p.m. – 03.30 p.m. [CEST]). This event is aimed at partner universities and also directly at students who are interested to come to TUM for an exchange. We will introduce requirements and opportunities for a stay abroad at TUM. On top of that, we will also introduce you to Munich with a virtual city tour, as an exchange is about immersing yourself into a new culture and therefore goes beyond the academic aspect.
  • Fit for studying in Germany – An intercultural workshop. (July 01, 2022. 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. [CEST]). Does studying at a German university in Munich differ from studying back home? How do some of the differences in communication styles between professors, students, and advisors reflect general German cultural standards and values? In this taster workshop, you deepen your knowledge about Germany and the Germans and also do some self-reflection on how cultures have shaped and influenced your life so far.

Cursos intensivos italiano – Descuento Erasmus

Abierta la matrícula de los cursos intensivos de verano de italiano, que tiene una duración de un mes (julio o agosto o septiembre).

Si el alumno elige 1 mes, alcanza un nivel A2. Si hace 2, alcanza un nivel B1.

Aquellos alumnos que tengan concedida una beca Erasmus, tienen un descuento del 20%.

The 5th Edition is structured as a 1-week virtual school with the unique option to add a 1-week in presence internship at Riga Technical University or/and University of Bergamo.

Lecture 1: Classical Pipeline of Digital Image Processing
May 12th, 2022, (Thursday) 12:30 PM at 1G-0.3

Imaging devices are now more widely available than ever before.
This offers a variety of opportunities for computer processing of
digital images for a wide variety of application areas.
In this lecture, we will briefly present the basic processing
blocks required in designing a computer software system for the
object detection problems. Such a classic approach, which is no
longer the first choice of researchers and developers today, is
still the only option when there is only a small amount of data
and images at disposal.

Lecture 2: The use of Convolutional Neural Networks as a Modern Approach to Digital Image Processing
May 16th, 2022, (Monday) 12:00 PM at 1G-0.3

Deep learning computational procedures are taking over primacy also in the field of
Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision. Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN),
as an example of such approaches, are particularly suitable for processing 2D and 3D
digital images. In this lecture, we will make a brief introduction to the Convolutional
Neural Networks. We will present the most typical layers of such Neural Networks;
besides that, we will also give some recommendations for learning and fine-tuning.
We will demonstrate with a few examples how to meaningfully utilise CNNs for the
processing of digital images.

Božidar Potočnik was born in Maribor, Slovenia in 1972. He received the B.S., M.S.,
and D.S. degrees in computer science from the University of Maribor in 1995, 1998,
and 2000, respectively. Since 2013, he has been an Associate Professor at Faculty
of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, Slovenia.
He is the author of a book and more than 30 scientific peer-reviewed journal articles.
His research interests include digital image and image sequence processing,
deep learning, pattern recognition, and biomedicine. He is the IEEE member since 1995.

Solicitudes entre el 5 y el 12 de mayo de 2022

Convocatoria extraordinaria para la adjudicación de plazas vacantes SICUE 2022-2023 dirigida a estudiantes que no participaron en la convocatoria anterior y a participantes en la primera convocatoria en lista de espera en algún destino o sin destino adjudicado.

Quedan expresamente excluidos los participantes en la primera convocatoria en las siguientes situaciones:

-Con primer destino solicitado adjudicado y aceptado.

-Participantes que no cumplían los requisitos del programa SICUE y/o los requisitos específicos de su centro en la primera convocatoria.

-Participantes en otros programas de intercambio con destino adjudicado para el mismo periodo de estudios.

La participación en esta convocatoria supone la renuncia al destino adjudicado y lista de espera de la convocatoria anterior.
Para formalizar tu solicitud, debes entrar en AIRE (intranet www.upv.es) y dejar como registrada tu solicitud en plazo.

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, universidad socia de la ETSINF en Suiza, nos envía información sobre este curso de verano, que tendrá lugar del 5 al 9 de septiembre de 2022 (no es periodo lectivo en la ETSINF):

The Lucerne School of Computer Science & Information Technology is setting up its third Summer School focusing on Designing Serious Games.

The Summer School will take place from Monday, 5 September to Friday, 9 September 2022. If possible, the Summer School will be held on Campus in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

  • Guest speakers:
    – Dr Caspar Harteveld of the Northeastern University (Boston), Michèle Müller and Céline Neubig from Enigma, Immersive Games & Exhibitions and Prof. Dr. Peter Gautschi from the University of Teacher Education Lucerne.
  • Profile students: undergraduate students in the area of Game Development, Game Design, IT, Computer Science or similar subjects.
  • Cost:
    There are no tuition fees for students of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and students from partner universities. International students pay for their own travel, accommodation and meals.
  • Registration:
    Deadline for international students: 15 May 2022.
